BRP cards are gone: your eVisa and how to prove your status
Physical biometric residence permits (BRP cards) expired at the end of 2024. Your UK immigration status is now digital: an eVisa held in an online UKVI account. Everyone with a visa should create and check their UKVI account at gov.uk/evisa, and make sure it is linked to your current passport - if you renew your Turkish passport, update the account straight away, or you may be stopped when travelling. To prove your status you generate a share code from the view and prove service: employers use it for right-to-work checks, landlords for right-to-rent checks, and banks may ask too. Share codes expire after 90 days and each one shows only what that checker needs. Keep your login details safe and never give your account password to anyone. Checking your eVisa is free; any site charging money for it is a scam.
