Can I work on a UK Student visa?
Most Student visa holders can work, but with strict limits. If you are studying a degree-level course at a licensed university, you can usually work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full time during official holidays. Below degree level, the limit is normally 10 hours per week. You cannot be self-employed, run a business, or work as a professional sportsperson, and some students (for example on short courses) cannot work at all. Your exact conditions are written in your visa decision letter and your eVisa record, so always check there before accepting a job. Breaking your work conditions is a serious immigration breach and can lead to your visa being cancelled. Employers will check your right to work using a share code from your UKVI account. If you are unsure, get advice before you start working.
